Chalkboard Walls

We have been talking about doing a chalkboard wall
for the grandkids in the hall.

Do you have one?

The blogs I have read make it sound very easy.

This is a great calendar from MarthaStewart.
The tutorial shows how to make different shades
with the paint.

Kids seem to really enjoy writing on the walls.

Moms write note, menus, shopping lists and poems on them.

This counter is just the right height.

This tutorial that shows how to make a board to
hang on the wall.

then I found this......

Yes it is Chalkboard Contact Paper.
The reviews say it has to be applied to a smoooooth
surface.  So the wall probably won't work.
I think a big piece of masonite board would work.
they are very clear to say color with a piece of chalk
on its side - the whole area x 2.  And wipe with a dry cloth.

There you go!  A new chalkboard, without painting
your wall black.

Now tell me, do you have a chalkboard wall in your house?

Vintage Modern

Have you seen the new fabric from

Camille Roskelley?

It is called Vintage Modern.

Now you need to know I have been very good
lately and have slowed way down in buying fabric.

But when she put these pictures up, I knew I was
going to cave.

She also has 4 new patterns and Sherri
made up Hopscotch,
I knew I was a goner.

Ok, so I am going to get fabric to do this quilt,
when it comes out,

but then I saw this at
Fat Quarter Shop

So, now, I am going to sign up for the block of the month, too,

for the 2012 Designer Mystery
block of the month.

Made with Vintage Modern!!!

How about you, are you going to bite?

thanks, Kathy
