I so need to live where I can
grow my vegetables again.

We are going to be 113 degrees tomorrow.

This is not compatible with life,
I run from the house to the hot car,
drive quickly while the air conditioning runs on high,
to work, the store and go home as quick as
I can.  When I lived in the pacific northwest,
we had gorgeous gardens like these.

So I think I will go fold some more fabric, under the fan,
with the air conditioning running.

Wednesday is about thread, ribbon and floss

These are some gorgeous pictures
of thread and things I have collected.

I love how the wooden threads looked.

A rainbow of embroider floss

Just an collection in a box, so pretty.

What a great way to display threads

Lovely pink

and more pink

More shiny floss

I think this is so fun.

Just because they are so pretty.

All pictures from my pinterest collection.

I have been thinking about round pillows

Yes, round pillows

Big and small.

To lay on, to sit on,

to get cozy with a book with.

Let me show you what I am talking about.

Amy Butler made some.

Tutorial for Belly Button Pillow

Butterscotch and Rose Pretty Piped Pillow tutorial

Cluck Cluck Sew called the Sprocket Pillows

Sarah @ FairyFace Designs
made one out of Bliss

Susan @ Living with Punks
made a wonderful tutorial for
a Land of Nod Inspired Floor Cushion

And Sarah Jane made a bunch in her
booth at Quilt Market last year

and again this year.

Val at Pink Please
put these wonderful
Jellyroll floor pillows on
the Moda Bakeshop site.

I am sorry I can't remember where I found this beautiful
jellyroll floor cushion.  do you know?

these are from Val @ Living with Punks, too.

and those bookshelves are a whole 'nother  story.

Gardening or Fabric?

Summer is here!

Gardens are all a bloom.

Did you spend your weekend in the garden or with
your new fabric cuts?

Vintage Modern by Bonnie and Camille

I traveled to the Pacific Northwest.
I was so happy to get out of the record breaking
heat.  Friday it was 111 degrees in Gilbert, Az.

This is a lovely screened porch, but it is not at our house.

I spent the week-end in Central Washington.

This is a wild geranium growing in my mom's yard.

I love the Columbine, lavender and maple mix.

Snapdragons and coreopsis

A fence was replaced in the neighborhood, and the
old weathered cedar was collected.
My sister and brother-in-law spent the weekend
applying the slats from the fence to the
old wood storage shed.

They crafted handles out of old leather, so the
door could be pulled out.

A very fine new addition to the neighborhood.

I hope you had as a productive weekend
as we did.

Soon I will show you the hexes I started working on.

thanks, kathy
